Ready to grow your own fresh veggies, herbs, or flowers?
Mesa Urban Garden (MUG) offers raised garden beds that are ready to plant—just add seeds and your favorite plants!
Each constructed raised bed comes pre-filled with premium planting soil and drip
irrigation already in place. Whether you’re new to gardening or a seasoned pro, you’ll
have everything you need to get started, grow strong, and connect with a thriving
garden community.
What’s Included with Your Bed Rental:
- Premium soil and compost
- Drip irrigation system
- Individual battery-operated water timer
- Water for the entire year
- Access to shared tools and tool storage
- Onsite setup and support
- Site access from sunrise to sunset, seven days a week
- An annual rental period (runs from whenever you join between January and March
through the following year)
Two Bed Sizes Available
Choose the bed size that matches your growing goals. Fees are due in full at the
beginning of the rental agreement. (Details and pricing can be found on our Bed Rental and Rates page.)
- 4′ x 6′ Raised Beds, $90 / year and a one-time $50 setup fee = $140 Total
- 4’x 12′ Raised Beds, $130 / year and a one-time $50 setup fee = $180 Total
Returning gardeners who renew in consecutive years will not be charged the $50 setup fee again.

Additional Bed Options:
- Accessible Bed Available: We offer a raised bed designed to be accessible for individuals who use a wheelchair, walker, or have limited mobility. If you’re interested in reserving this bed, please mention it when contacting the Garden Coordinator.
- Support a Garden, Support the Community: Want to give back? You can sponsor a bed for an individual or family in need. We also accept sponsorships for communal beds maintained by volunteers, with all harvests donated to local food banks and shelters. Let us know if you’d like to support or help maintain a sponsored bed!
Steps to Rent a Garden Bed
Important: Do not pay or fill out forms online until you’ve confirmed bed availability with the Garden Coordinator.
Step 1: Contact Us
Start by checking availability with Garden Coordinator, Laurie Blitz via our Facebook page (fastest method) or by phone/text at 480-202-3022.
Step 2: Review the Rules
Please read the full MUG Rules & Procedures and MUG Bed Rental Agreement. (Forms will be completed in person with the Garden Coordinator.)
Step 3: Reserve and Pay
Once you’ve confirmed availability and selected your bed, you can pay by check, money order, or cash (in person) or online find the option for a PayPal link below. Note that PayPal offers a credit card option but also includes an added processing fee.
Step 4: Complete Paperwork
Complete the MUG Bed Rental Agreement and Waiver with the Garden Coordinator. You can print out ahead of time or get a copy to fill out onsite when you complete your bed purchase.
A Few Final Reminders
- Do not pay for a bed before confirming availability.
- All forms are filled out in person with the Garden Coordinator.
- Bed availability is limited—ask to join the waitlist!
